After 3 months EVS in Iceland with SEEDS

Hi! I'm Simon, I'm EVS in Iceland for almost 4 months.

For my EVS I have to speak English, this is why I write this article in English. I have been leading 6 work camps in different parts of Iceland, with people from all around the world as participants. I have been in the South of Iceland, in the Reykjanes Peninsula, in the Westfjords, in the southern part of the Eastfjords, and in Reykjavik. All of these camps are manual outdoor work related to the Environment. We also always have time off to do excursions and to visit Iceland as much as we can. Now I know Iceland quite well and I can drive the excursions and be the guide for my groups. We always have very good times.

I had very good camps in which the host, the accommodation and the group of participants were amazing so we had very good times and a lot of fun. I had also more difficult camps in which I had to deal with different kinds of problems. As the leader, being responsible for the group and the well-being of each participant can be tiring... But this is the most interesting part for me! I learn how to be responsible and take decisions for a group.

Tomorrow I go to my last camp in the northern part of the Eastfjords with a group of 7 participants. We will work on controlling invasive plants. To get there and to come back, we will go one way up North and the other way down South, so we will drive the all ring road around Iceland!
