It's still winter, even if the temperatures start to rise! During our on-arrival training, the trainers told us "winter is coming", to understand "you may have winter depression, but hang in there! ». It wasn't really my case, but it didn't stop me from going back to France at Christmas to see my family and friends. From Vienna you can find round flights for only 60 euros, so it' s better to enjoy it!

In Czech Republic it is not Santa Claus who brings the gifts but Jesus. And the traditional meal is not the chestnut capon but rather fried carp with a potato salad!

Shortly after my departure from France, I went to my mid-term meeting, where I was able to see all the other volunteers from the on-arrival training. This time it was shorter, less busy and more relaxing. The aim is to take an overview of our journey, talk about our objectives, mini-projects, after EVS, etc.

We stayed in a pension in the countryside that was quite difficult to access. But the building and the food were very good. Large rooms, billiard, jacuzzi, ping-pong table, everything was there to spend a pleasant moment. We had the opportunity to create our own workshops: dance, singing, feminist circle, debate on Europe, non-formal activities, initiation to krav maga, etc. We also spent an afternoon in the mountains sledging on the tracks, just epic and hilarious!

Finally, this meeting also serves to strengthen the links between volunteers and to help us organize ourselves in order to plan activities together. This is for me the main point of EVS, I will talk a little bit about my weekends in the next article.
